Raw Material Recycling

We are committed to protecting the environment.

Through our recycling program, we are reducing our impact on waste production to landfill and helping provide raw materials for new, in demand, products. The primary product is engineered decking material. This is also used in the construction of outdoor furniture.

Scrap Polypropylene to be Recycled

HPK Industries has a recycling program for the unused by-product from the company’s manufacturing operations. Since the program was implemented in 2007 HPK has recycled and kept out of landfills over 8 million pounds poly-polypropylene by-product that previously would go to landfill. HPK currently recycles over 500,000 lbs. per year.

Engineered Decking Material Post Recycled

Engineered decking is one of the items being manufactured with HPK by-product. Other items are engineered lumber products used in the manufacture outdoor furniture, window and door frames.

In March of 2020 HPK was approached to supply masks to meet the massive supply shortage caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The PPE shortage is a direct result of America’s continued reliance of products manufactured in China. HPK started hand sewing a 3-ply mask single pleat design similar to a style manufactured during the 1970’s.
